From voice note to spreadsheet
A voice note dictated on site comes back as the professional’s own spreadsheet, with the descriptions already written.
Status: Pilot project. Tested on the inspections of a judicial-auction professional.
Example: a 42-second voice note becomes three rows of the spreadsheet. The descriptions are the dictated words, the value column stays empty, and the lot with “presumably” goes on the list to check.
The problem
If you inventory goods on site, you write the same document twice: once in the field and again at the desk. The pilot was a professional who works on court-ordered auctions in north-east Italy. The details that matter are in the expert’s head, and the report must follow their own template.
What it does now
On site, the professional dictates a voice note for each lot into a phone chat, and can add photos. After the visit, one command turns the session into their own Excel report, which comes back in the same chat. The descriptions keep their words, and the value fields stay empty for them to fill in. Anything unclear arrives in the chat as a list to check, so the report itself looks exactly like theirs.
How it works
A transcription program turns each voice note into text. Claude then sorts the transcript into what the report needs: a description for each lot, a confidence level and a list of points to check. Its written instructions are strict: it never writes a value, and an “I think” in the dictation stays in the text and on the list. A small program then writes everything into a copy of the client’s own template.
What held
- The description comes from what the expert says, and photos are kept as proof.
- Values are written by the expert: the system prepares the descriptions and the checklist.
- It suits people who dictate, and a test on their voice notes comes before any build.
