Product photos ready for the website
Product photos for a second-hand luxury boutique, cut out onto white and checked before they go online.
Status: In use since August 2026. Every month 164 photos: 149 come back ready, 15 with a note to look at.

The problem
The boutique photographs its pieces on mannequins, in hands and on tables. The cut-out tool it used before left poles, tables and shelf items in the picture, or cut away fingers, rings and straps. The owner ended up redoing many photos by hand.
What it does now
Each photo is cut out onto pure white, then the system decides whether to trust the result. When a cut would spoil the picture, as with a close-up with no background, a label, a person or an unclear hand, it keeps the photo as taken. A photo that needs a look goes back to the owner with one line in plain Italian, for example that a strap may be missing a piece. When the system flags nothing, the photo is ready: the shop gives it a last look and publishes it.
How it works
Programs built in different ways cut out each photo side by side, and another one decides when they disagree. The final check is Claude’s. It compares the original with the result, with close-ups where cut-outs fail, like the pole under a mannequin or a hand, and answers a fixed set of questions about what is missing or left over, plus one sentence for the owner.
What held
- It only bothers you when it has to: if anything fails, even the check itself, the photo goes to the owner.
- A fix is kept only if nothing goes missing, because a chain cut away is worse than a bar left in.
- Before a change goes live, I test it on the 253 photos the owner had redone by hand.
